Srinagar, January 04 (KNO) : The separatist leaders and the religious bodies while condemning the last Friday’s sacrilegious act at the historic Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, stated that Kashmir struggle doesn’t need any outside support and those linking with global terror groups are anti-Islamic and anti-Kashmir elements. In their address, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik shed light on the sanctity of masjid, its pulpit in the light of Islamic perspective stating that the incident that took place last Friday has hurt the religious and emotional sentiments of people across Kashmir and that the act deserves condemnation at all levels. The leadership said that the attempt to desecrate the pulpit of grand masjid was aimed at damaging the Kashmir struggle that is purely indigenous in nature. According to KNO correspondent, the leadership said that at a time when people and the leadership is trying hard to take forward the ongoing sacred movement that has countless sacrifices at its back, some anti-Islamic and anti-Kashmir movement are hell-bent to divide the people of Kashmir on religious, ideology and sectarian lines. They said that Kashmir struggle has no support or role of any foreign country but is purely ingenious in nature where people are fighting the Delhi’s forcible control on Kashmir. They said that people should remain cautious and not allow any attempt aimed at giving the Kashmir struggle a global colour by linking it with global terror groups, a move that suits New Delhi by all means. The leadership said that the enemy of Kashmir struggle that is on since 1947 is not only the worst oppressor but having a clever mind where deceitful designs are hatched to damage the Kashmir struggle. They said that Kashmiri people have offered sacrifices on all fronts, while as New Delhi left no stone unturned to muzzle the movement by choking economic prospectus of Kashmir on one hand and on the other hand, unleashing ultimate oppression in the form of killings, blinding youth, maiming and thrashing people of all ages besides damaging the property worth billions. They urged people, especially youth to forge unity on all fronts so that the ongoing movement is taken to its logical conclusion at the earliest. Terming the last Friday’s attempt to desecrate the Jamia Masjid Pulpit as very unfortunate, the leaders said that ever since the conspiracies were hatched against the grand masjid, be that 1931 massacre, martyrdom of Moulana Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq (RA), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq since his childhood stood against all odds and fought the conspiracies with full might with the active support of people of Kashmir. The leadership said that youth are the great assets of Kashmir struggle while as elderly and women folk too have offered priceless sacrifices towards the freedom movement. The leadership urged the youth to visit the homes and offices of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to register their grudges and to give their feedback to the leadership. The leadership said that downtown has always remained the epicentre of Kashmir struggle and that the Jamia Masjid has always represented the true aspirations of people of Kashmir with the result it became the primary target of the successive regimes who most of the sealed it and barred Friday prayers. They said that Jamia Masjid is the Central masjid of Kashmir and protection of its pulpit is the primary responsibility of every single citizen of Kashmir. “Pulpit of Jamia Masjid has always been opposing the autocratic rule of the Dogra regime from day one and since then, it is highlighting the pain and injustices inflicted on the people of Kashmir,” they said. The leadership that they have already coined the slogan-Kashmir ka tarjuman, Naujawan, Naujawan, and that they stand by it with the belief that youth have to take the ongoing movement to its logical conclusion. The leadership said no outside force or any part or group would be allowed to hijack the Kashmir’s movement, that is purely indigenous in nature. “The leadership also clarified that no offer for the unconditional talks came from the GoI as claimed by the Indian Home Minsiter Rajnath Singh and instead oppression touched all time high in Kashmir with killings, thrashing and blinding of youth remaining the major highlights of every day in the year that just passed,” the leadership said.
